it was a good day.
I feel like Ice Cube right now, because it was a good day. This kind of stuff never happens to me, so I had to document this.
Maybe it was a reimbursement from God since I was not having the best time last week...
Long story short, on my way to work last week I ran the side of my car into a trashcan. The right side mirror of my car was no longer intact, and the debris fell somewhere onto Wilshire Boulevard. That on top of a stressful workweek...yikes.
I was able to get an appointment at the dealership, but I had to wake up at the crack of dawn in order to make it to work after. While waiting for my car, I stopped by Jamba Juice and Peet's Coffee, rare treats since I don't normally stop by this plaza on the way to work. I was finally able to try Jamba Juice's steel cut oats, which I highly recommend, and I was also able to grab some iced coffee on the way. No acidic Starbucks coffee for me today! SCORE 1
Once I got my breakfast, I checked my E-mail and saw a coupon for endless.com, my go to shoe website. I purchased the coveted Rebecca Minkoff clutch that I had been eyeing for months at discount, tax-free, and shipping fee free. SCORE 2
Shortly after browsing the website, my car was done. I arrived to work on time, with minimal traffic. A miracle in Los Angeles. And, did I mention, listened to the calming tunes of OceanLab, whom I will be seeing this Friday? SCORE 3
I actually had time to take a lunch break today, and went to the Farmer's Market. Purchased a Gyro Wrap from the Zagat Rated Mediterranean stand. The lamb was tender, flavorful, and delicious. Added a Coke Zero with that and I was in heaven. SCORE 4
Leftover Diddy Reese cookies at the office. Snagged a M&M cookie. SCORE 5
Arrived at home to find a severance check from my last job. The amount covered my car repairs for the day, and part of my clutch. SCORE 6
Don't want to jinx myself, but today was a good day. Thanks Karma, it's only fair you know. :)
